In front of Lian Hua Gong or beside Wei Lian Gong in Taman Peringgit Jaya, Melaka, lives an old man who is mentally unstable. He is bald, toothless, skinny, and gives off a strong unpleasant odor. Every day, he wears nothing but women’s shorts.
He has five siblings, yet none of his four younger siblings have escaped his slander. He speaks ill of every one of them, believing that only he is superior because he is the eldest.
From the second floor of Wei Lian Gong, he is often seen performing strange rituals — pouring his urine in front of the house gate, then beating the urine pot like a drum while walking around Jalan Melor and his home. He ends the ritual by bathing naked in the rain. His behavior greatly disturbs the temple congregation and neighbors.
In the past, he would burn garbage in his garden continuously, producing thick smoke that blocked the visibility of passing motorcyclists along Jalan Melor. It posed serious risks of accidents, lung damage, and even fire.
Residents have long complained about his disturbing “devil-worship” rituals. The house that was once clean and pleasant now looks like a wild forest — overgrown with tall trees and vines everywhere.
This old man always pretends to be deaf, refusing to listen to anyone. He sees himself as superior, even claiming he is “higher than God” whenever someone dares to reprimand him.
The most pitiful ones are his younger brother and the brother’s wife who live under the same roof. Every time the wife cooks and offers him food, he mocks her by saying her dishes are full of MSG — even though she never uses any.
He says such things only to get money instead of food. To him, only money matters — money for cigarettes and marijuana. Eating is unimportant; smoking is his true priority.
A neighbor once saw his face badly injured — beaten by someone after he groped a woman at a café on Jonker Street. He was sent to the hospital by ambulance, but later lied to his family and neighbors, claiming he fell off his bike to gain sympathy and money.
He escaped from the hospital to avoid paying the bills, proudly boasting that he “climbed over the hospital wall” — even though he could barely walk. He foolishly thought his friends would believe his lies.
It is truly unwise to give him money for food because he spends it only on cigarettes and marijuana.
In the past, his younger brother sent him money every month, but he got angry, saying his brother treated him like a servant. He thought the money was his “salary” for taking care of the house.
From young until old, he has never wanted to work. Throughout his life, he has lived by manipulating others — relying on his parents, siblings, and friends for money. He incites, steals, lies, spreads rumors, and creates stories to gain pity and get money for cigarettes and marijuana.
Whenever he visits relatives, something always goes missing. His family knows he is a habitual thief who will take anything that catches his interest.
He becomes ecstatic when he successfully manipulates people for money. If anyone enters his room, a foul odor instantly fills the air. His room is cluttered with strange idols he worships, vines creeping in through the windows, an unflushed toilet full of waste, and piles of dirty clothes that haven’t been washed in years. Bottles of urine are scattered everywhere.
He let his mother suffer terribly in her old age — living for years without electricity or water — until she died. The money his younger sisters sent for their mother’s care was spent on his own pleasures instead of paying bills. He even threw away his mother’s expensive cookware into the garden until they rusted.
The most horrifying part is that he kept his mother’s ashes in the house for three years. When his younger brother — who had just retired from Singapore — returned home and discovered this, he released their mother’s ashes into the river.
His younger brother and sister-in-law now pray every day for rain, collecting rainwater in bottles to bathe, wash, and cook. Knowing this, he spreads false rumors that his younger brother “steals water from the temple,” and he has even been caught throwing away their collected water.
The sister-in-law often catches him stealing eggs, rice noodles, and cooking oil — not to eat, but to throw away. He also mixes their drinking water and rice with vinegar, and takes naked baths near the kitchen when he knows she is cooking. He even throws away laundry water mixed with softener on purpose.
His frontal lobe seems underdeveloped — the part of the brain responsible for reasoning and control. Since childhood, his behavior has been abnormal: he once cut up his little sister’s dolls, served a friend orange juice made from water mixed with orange paint, skipped school, lied, stole, and used marijuana. He constantly manipulates, deceives, and blames others just to feel superior. Even when caught lying, he shows no remorse and repeats the same actions again and again.
He enjoys setting dry leaves on fire and leaving them unattended until the flames nearly burn down his mother’s house. His younger brother and wife had to extinguish the fire with rainwater while he stood emotionless, staring at the blaze that almost reached the power lines. The police once warned him that if it happened again, he would be arrested.
He is a compulsive liar, skilled at twisting words. Once he starts lying, he cannot stop. He has no conscience, no empathy, no guilt, and no sense of responsibility — always blaming others for his actions.
He planted thorny bushes and scattered broken glass and rusty metal around the garden just to cause harm to those who live with him.
He hangs leftover food on hooks, throws scraps under the dining table, and lets dogs and cats lick the plates so he doesn’t have to wash them. He even feels pleasure watching the pets starve to death.
So, to anyone reading this — please do not give him any more cats or dogs. Doing so only worsens the suffering of his younger brother and sister-in-law, who already live in poverty and hardship without electricity or water — all consequences of his actions.
He cares only about himself, has no plans for the future, and cannot understand others’ feelings. At first, he may appear charming and intelligent — talking sweetly, giving clever comments, and telling fascinating stories. But behind that mask lies manipulation and deceit.
Even the temple caretaker has complained to his younger brother about his habit of stealing food offerings. All the neighbors have complained too.
His nature is sadistic — he seeks to destroy rather than help. He is easily angered over trivial matters, often hurts his pets, keeps many animals without feeding them, and even locks kittens in closets until they die. He disregards both his own safety and that of others, and often encourages dangerous behavior.
