Strawberries don't have whitening effect on teeth




A new study has showed that strawberries don't make your teeth whiter, it is a myth that it is having whitening effect on teeth. 

According to University of Iowa researcher, So Ran Kwon, compared other recipes with homemade strawberry baking soda recipe, found that the teeth brushed with the strawberry-baking soda mixture showed no real whitening, based on two well-known color-measurement tests and evaluations with a spectrophotometer.

The reason that strawberries do not have whitening effect is as it lack in hydrogen peroxide and carbamide peroxide which are the main ingredient in products meant for tooth whitening.


Teeth holds secrets


Teeth can help to know the secret of a person's origin as the lead in human teeth holds clues about where a person grew up and can help criminal investigators and archaeologists working with old or decomposed corpses, according to a University of Florida researcher. 

Because lead ore deposits around the world differ, and as young people's teeth absorb traces of the metal in the environment, the region where a person grew up can be distinguished through lead analysis of a tooth, said geologist George Kamenov.
