A group of students from North Carolina has come up with a new nail polish that detects date rape drugs and keeps women safe from being a victim of sexual assault. Cnet reported that Undercover Colors nail polish , which hopes to be the "first fashion company empowering women to prevent sexual assault", changes color when in contact with date rape drugs like Rohypnol , Xanax and GHB.
On their Facebook Undercover Colors said that their goal is to invent technologies that empower women to protect themselves. nail polish is still in the early experimental stages, team has already raised 100,000 dollars for product development.
Anti-rape nail polish invited negative reactions
The new technology nail polish which is called anti-rape nail polish for women protection from rape has received negative reactions from several women and anti-rape advocates on Twitter.
Chair of the board at student (SAFER) said that the problem wasn't whether a woman knew there were roofies in her drink, but the fact that someone put roofies in her drink, Mashable reported. On line users commented on twitter that they like the idea but was not sure how one was going to get men to wear it
