Hello,
CD Baby will no longer be doing business with your content due to risk concerns related to your content itself and/or the use of your content online.
In the next 24 hours, we will issue removals to all the digital partners that currently carry your content. Pursuant to the terms of our Artist Agreement, the content may take up to 30 days to fully process, depending on partner.
Your submission fees have been refunded and should appear on your payment method in the next 2-5 business days.
Your account is currently suspended and will not be accessible. We may be forced to return those funds to our partners to compensate them for losses associated with activity related to your content and/or to the original copyright owner.
Be advised, if you were opted in to CD Baby Pro Publishing, your PRO and other collection societies may leave CD Baby listed as your publishing administrator until another publisher claims these works. If a new publisher does not take over our claim at any given collection society, then that society may continue to distribute your royalties to CD Baby.
You may be responsible for additional action related to services including but not limited to Legacy CD Baby Pro, HearNow, Boost services, etc. For a comprehensive list, please visit our help center.
Please refer to the CD Baby Artist Agreement you signed with us, including Sections 4(c), 10(b), and 16: , which include provisions of right of removal, as well as indemnification and offset.
We handle all legal matters by email and cannot discuss them over the phone.
CD Baby
seems crazy they didn't explain further but i imagine 'risk concerns' is one of: your track and it's samples and legality, your personal information and them thinking something is wrong there or some sort of fraud detection on your payment, idk what you can do but try to get in contact with their support and see what they say - it'll be best to try figure it out even if you use another distributor cause you wanna be sure whatever it is won't trigger for another platform
Don’t use CD Baby. I wouldn’t recommend Distrokid or Tunecore either. They have a history of these kind of scandals. Try applying for Awal, it’s owned by Sony and The Orchard Enterprises. Which is way more safe for artists. The only downside is that it takes a 15% distribution fee but, you get unlimited tracks and artists for free.
they allowed me to get my royalties but thats it. beware with distroKd, tncore, they will shut u down for no reason and keep tthe money. ditto is amazing by the way.
