Because of my eldest brother’s greed, the electronics shop that my mother, my second brother, and I had been managing could no longer afford to buy goods to sell. On top of that, my mother often stole money from the shop to give to her own mother.
After my eldest brother quit his job at the bank, it turned out he became completely unemployed. His deaf wife’s promise that he would work in her family’s company was a lie. For decades, my father had to support their living expenses.
One day, they came to our house demanding the inheritance of a piece of land. My father told me, “I’m still alive, but your brother is already asking for inheritance.” Because they kept harassing and calling my father every day, he eventually gave my brother the 3-acre plot of land.
A few days later, they returned with a notary letter. They asked my second brother and me to sign it. The letter stated that both of us agreed not to claim any rights to the 3-acre land.
After getting the land, they came again, terrorizing my father and demanding his truck. That’s how greedy they were. I felt so sorry for my father — he had a wife, a son, and a daughter-in-law with such evil hearts.
One day, my brother’s deaf wife gave me a green jacket. I was really happy because I thought she was finally being kind to me. I wore that green jacket to college every day until it faded from use. Then one day, without any reason, she suddenly asked for the jacket back. I had no choice but to return it, even though it had already faded and torn.
When their first son was born, they left him at our house for us to take care of, while they went out enjoying life like newlyweds. Every day, I had to babysit their son until people started to think my two nephews were actually my own children. I took care of them from the time they couldn’t even walk until they went to kindergarten.
My eldest brother has four children — two sons and twin daughters. All of their births were paid for by my father. The deaf woman deliberately chose the most expensive hospital each time, just to make my father suffer financially.
One day, my singing friend invited me to a social gathering party. Each invitation card was valid for two people. Unexpectedly, I ended up sitting at the same table as my eldest brother and his deaf wife. There were ten people at the table.
His deaf wife couldn’t accept sitting at the same table as me. Both she and my brother looked down on me as if I were nothing. Then, in front of everyone, she stood up, pointed at my face, and shouted, “You weren’t invited! How dare you come here?”
I was speechless. Everyone at the table stared at me. The friend who had invited me was too shocked to say anything.
When I got home, I told my father about what happened. He cried and deeply regretted it. He said, “How could your brother treat his own sister like that?”
